Text: Proverbs 6:9-1, I Peter 1:24, Psalm
There are things we need to do now at our sunrise because at our sunset there'll be no energy to do them again
Laziness means:
unwillingness,
dormancy,
drowsiness,
dullness,
dilly-dallying,
inactivity resulting from a dislike for work,
resting before getting tired,
heaviness,
inactivity,
passivity
sluggishness,
idleness,
negligence,
sleepiness,
time-killing,
resistance to work,
slothfulness,
time-wasting,
being slow to respond,
failure to do what needs to be done when needed to be done
Time is the currency we all spend
The problems of Sluggards
- Lazy people will never experience spiritual victory or breakthrough
- They're no match for the enemy of the spirit of laziness has grip on them
- They will not finish anything, they'll always abandon whatever things they do (John 9:4)
- A sluggard would not enter into any glory
- They won't face things properly
- They rationalize or explain away failures
- They engage in self-deception
Principles and Power of Hardwork
- Hard work doesn't kill you, it only removes hard life - Proverbs 6
- It takes a willing heart and a working hand to win
- Every success story is a product of hard work
- The hardest work is doing nothing because that alone tends one to poverty
- The alternative to hard work is hard life
- The poorest man is not the one without money but one without a goal or dream
- Hard work will earn you integrity and the respect of others.
- It will you bring you rewards, lead to success, fulfillment your destiny, and prolong your life.
What to do
- Confess and recognize that laziness is a sin
- Do regular check-ins within yourself
- Have an accountability system; be accountable to someone
- Ask for strength and grace
- Cultivate the habit of always tapping into God's strength and grace.
