Topic: The Force and Profit of Consecration and Dedication

A powerful device without proper care will soon lose its value. Many youths are like this.

Objectives of this teaching :

  1. To understand the meaning of Consecration and Dedication

  2. To discover the spiritual force behind consecrated living

  3. To know the profits and blessings attached to this

  4. To learn practical ways to live a life of dedication

  5. To develop hunger for God and hatred for compromise

Consecration means:

  • to be separated from sin and worldly pollution into God

  • to make oneself available completely for divine use

  • to surrender one's life, body and ambitions to God

Biblical examples of those who lived consecrated lives

  1. Samson was consecrated from birth (Judges 13:5)
  2. Jeremiah was apart (Jer. 1:5)
  3. Daniel refused defilement (Daniel 1:8)
  4. Joseph refused immorality (Genesis 39:9)

What Consecration is not

  1. Consecration isn't mere church attendance.

  2. It's not outward appearance alone

  3. It is not emotional christianity or temporary holiness or during church programs alone

True consecration affects your:

  • speech,

  • dressing,

  • relationships,

  • entertainment,

  • character,

  • thoughts,

  • private life.

Consecration that is genuine should affect every area of your life.

Dedication means:

  • total commitment to God's purpose (remember, there's no purpose that will not be opposed)
  • loyalty to God and his kingdom no matter the cost
  • remaining faithful, consistently not temporarily

A dedicated believer serves God seriously, obeys God completely, remains steadfast during difficulties and refuses distractions.

You must be able to see the picture of your future in the scripture. When you see it, you'll be able to stand unshakable.
