Objectives of today’s sermon

1. To help us understand that great destinies are built through consistent obedience.
2. To reveal that destiny is not fulfilled by occasional efforts or gifts or enthusiasm alone but by discipline
3. To develop a spirit of perseverance and discipline. That is, to remain steadfast in the place of challenge, delay, etc.
4. To encourage consistency in spiritual growth and kingdom service
5. To inspire believers to regular growth.
6. To teach us the importance of faithfulness in small responsibilities- (Luke 16:10)
7. To inspire believers to remain focused until their destinies are fulfilled.

What is consistency?

• Showing up when nobody is watching you. That is, doing the right thing at the right time
• Praying when you don’t feel like praying
• Studying when others are wasting time
• Serving God where there is no applause
• Obeying God even when results are not immediate.
• Doing ordinary things extraordinarily well for a long time.

Why is consistency critical to the fulfillment of destiny?

1. Destiny is a journey and not an event—unfortunately, many believe destiny fulfillment happens suddenly.
2. Destiny unfolds gradually as you put in your efforts and energy—God took Joseph from the pit to slavery to prison to the palace. Destiny is a process. Joseph remained faithful (Gen. 39:2).

There is no empty human being. We all carry something. 

Joseph’s consistency in difficult seasons qualified him for greatness.

4. Your future is hidden inside your daily habits.

5. What you repeatedly do today creates your tomorrow.

6. Consistency builds capacity – God will never release a destiny bigger than your capacity.

The reason why some are not seeing results is lack of consistency.
God doesn’t have time for wastage.

7. It attracts divine promotion because promotion doesn’t come because of desires, but promotion follows proven faithfulness.

8. God promotes those He can trust.

9. A consistent believer becomes dependable in God’s hands.

Many use spirituality to cover laziness.
God can only bless what you have.

Examples of consistent people in the Bible

1. Daniel (Daniel 6:10)
2. David, he consistently developed himself in the secret. Nobody applauded him in the wilderness; nevertheless, he worshiped. When Goliath appeared, he was prepared.
3. Jesus Christ, who went about doing good. He consistently prayed, served, and lived. (Acts 10:38)

Enemies of Consistency

• Procrastination
• Discouragement

Many stop because results are delayed. Delay is not denial. 

Seeds need time before harvest

• Distraction, e.g., social media, wrong relationships, excessive entertainment. 

  Many destinies are destroyed not  by sins, but distractions

• Lack of discipline. Motivations come and go, but discipline remains.
• Comparison. Many abandon their journey because they compare themselves with others.

Area to be consistent in

1. Spiritual life
2. Prayer life
3. Bible study
4. Church attendance
5. Evangelism
6. Career life
7. Personal development (Reading, learning skill, leadership growth, capacity building, integrity, honesty, etc)

Reward for consistency

• Divine trust. God entrusts more faithful people
• Divine promotion
• Influence. People trust dependable individuals
• Open doors.
• Destiny fulfilment
• It bridges prophecy and manifestation.

• Consistency turns potentials into performance
• The secret place of greatness is faithfulness.
• What you do repeatedly on a daily basis becomes what you eventually become.
• Destiny responds more to discipline than desire.
