Text: 1Kings18: 41-46
Until we all realize that there is an invisible hand responsible for and at work in the affairs of humanity, we will not be able to effectively utilize our lives.
Things do not just happen; they are all orchestrated; something triggers their occurrence. There is no life for any mortal outside of the immortal God, and this immortal God operates with His hand, known as the mighty hand of God. Things do not just come into existence; they are brought into being.
The hand of God and the arm of God are often used interchangeably. Wherever you see the arm of God, it signifies that the hand is very close by, implying that the arm of God is like the shadow of His hand. Before the arm of God is evident, the hand of God must have already arrived. When the hand arrives, then the arm is in operation.
The hand of God is the indication of God’s presence in a person’s life or around them. The hand of God can be upon anyone, and one does not have to be born again for this to occur. It is a manifestation of God’s mercy and love in someone’s life.
It signifies God’s watchful eye focused on a person’s life. God laying His hand on an unbeliever is indicative of His intentions for that life in the future.
The hand of God can be either light or heavy upon a person (1 Samuel 5:6, 6:5; Job 33:7). When the hand of God is upon an unbeliever, it is light, but upon conversion to Christ, it becomes heavy.
The hand of God can also be upon a person for either good or evil. When it is for good, one enjoys its benefits, but when it is for evil, they encounter God from a different perspective.
– Favour (agent of divine bias) (Ezra 6: 21-22)
– Answers to prayers (Ezra 7:6)
– Protection and victory over enemies
– Access to mysteries
– Speed and sluggishness as the Lord pleases. The hand of God can hold you back waiting for the fullness of time. The hand of God can either grant you speed when necessary or slow you down when necessary.
1. Thou mighty hand of God, rest upon my life for good in the name of Jesus. Amen.
2. Thou mighty hand of God, give me wings to fly in the name of Jesus. Amen.
3. The finger that visited Pharaoh, show upon my matter in the name of Jesus. Amen.
