"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31

One of the most difficult seasons in the life of a believer is the season of waiting; unfortunately, many people mistake waiting for denial.

When prayers seem unanswered, doors remain closed, promises remain distant and discouragement always set in

God's delays are not God's denials

Your waiting season is often God's preparation season

The fact that something has not yet happened doesn't mean it will not happen

Meaning of the Waiting Season

It means:

  1. Trusting God when you cannot yet see what He has promised
  2. Remaining faithful during uncertainty
  3. Maintaining hope despite delays
  4. Believing God's word above present circumstances
  5. Refusing to quit before God's appointed time (Habakkuk 2:3).

GOD NEVER ARRIVES LATE; HE ARRIVES AT THE APPOINTED TIME

6 Reasons God Allows The Waiting Season

  1. God uses the waiting season to build our character
  2. He uses it to test our faith
  3. He uses the waiting period to align events
  4. To teach dependency on Him
  5. Waiting produces spiritual strength

Biblical examples of those who waited on the Lord

  1. Lazarus
  2. Hannah
  3. Sarah

Dangers Of The waiting Season

  1. Discouragement: weakens faith and kills joy.
Remedy: keep focusing on God's promises

  2. Comparison: creates confusion

Remedy: Know that people have different destinies and times.

3. Impatience: causes people to make costly mistakes

4. Doubt
Remedy:

  • Continue speaking God's word.
  • Continue praising God; demonstrating confidence in him.
  • Continue growing in God
  • Continue serving; your labour in God is not wasted

Benefits Of Waiting On God

  1. Waiting is not denial
  2. Waiting is not punishment but often preparation
  3. Waiting positions us for divine manifestation

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD - Ps 27:14
